Read Across America week was a great time for students to celebrate their love of reading and be exposed to new books! The week was filled with activities, including our Book Talking T-Shirt contest and our camping themed Book Fair. We also had Book Tastings for students to get a "taste" of some of the library's new books as well as campfire sing-alongs with our new music teacher, Mrs. Jaquez. A fun time was had by all, especially when it came time for the s'mores! A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Jaquez and Ms. Evans for helping with the activities and Mrs. Baca and Mrs. Villela for helping with the Book Fair!

The Book Talking T-Shirts were a huge success! We had over 60 students create t-shirts at home with their parents to celebrate their favorite books. Students showcased their talents and demonstrated their love of reading. We had all sorts of books and authors represented, from Dr. Seuss all the way to R.L. Stine! Great job students and parents! |
