Our first ever Gingerbread Wars program was hugely successful! We had more than thirty students and their families participate. They decorated cookies based on their favorite books, and the judges were very impressed with their book summaries and their creativity. So many people worked very hard to make the event run smoothly. Special thanks go to Mrs. Nellie Garcia and her family for lovingly baking more than one hundred cookies, and our judges Meghann Townsend and Becky Townsend, and fellow librarians Anne Momsen and Raquel Rodriguez. We also want to thank Erin Evans, Nancy Baca, Sarah Quintana, David Olivares, Judith Noriega, Ana Sandoval, Carolina Acevedo, our Assistant Principal, Maria Lopez, and our Principal, Marti Muela. We were also blessed to have the assistance of Jefferson High School's JROTC. Thank you so much for all your help and support!
